We are planing a trip to the Hatfield McCoy trials in WV. So far there is about 13 of us going. I just wanted to see if anyone has been there, and is it a good hard ride? I am in sw pa and its all rocks, hill, and mud. Its pretty technical around home, I just dont want to go 5 hours away to be bored. Well I can have fun going to the gas station and McDonalds on my quad!

There's another thread on this same forum regarding HM. I think it's the best organized riding spot in the mid-atlantic area. Six different trail systems - most at around 100 miles of trails. My favorite trail systems are Dingess Rum/Bear Wallow, Browning Fork/Rockhouse, and Pinnacle Creek. Waterways has no challenge at all -- probably good if you were taking a young kid. The new Indian Ridge was good, but it's about an hour from the other systems. Only rode Buffalo Mtn once. The town of Man is a great place to stay.

It's worth the drive. We went down four times last year and the year before. Try to hit two or three trail systems during your trip and you won't be bored.

It sounds so sweet! I cant wait to go! We are going to Buffalo Mtn. We are getting a cabin or something there. I hope we can try that hill climb there, it looks sick!

I love it down there. We leave around 7 in the morning and get back around 4 or 5 in the evening. Usually in one day you can put 80 miles on easy with more trails to go. I've been on almost every trail head down there at least 3 times and the one that I didn't care for was Pinnacle Creek. I rode that on my way home one day and rode every trail on it 4 times in about 2 hours. That was the only one that I can say was boring. But as far as Bear Wallow and Rockhouse you can't go wrong.

That hill climb by Rockhouse is nasty! When I went there most people only made it half way up on quads and for dirt bikes it was just like a walk in the park. I remember there was some little kids on 80s and 90s tryin to go up it. They actually made it further than some people on 400s and 450s.
