right now i got an 06 450r and i'm running elka elite rears rebuilt by laz with one of his xc links, i want to go to a houser swing arm, will this negatively affect my rear suspension b/c i like it now and i dont want it screwed up, i heard i might need a stiffer spring on the shock but i don't see why, are the mounting popint different on the 2 swingers, advice please

it shouldnt because most aftermarket swingers use the same specs as 06+ swingers and mounting holes.

Email or call GThunder and ask Laz.

this is the way i look at it correct me if im wrong cause im not 100%. say you get a longer swingarm the shock mounts in the same spot as stock, you got more leverage on your shock wich makes it softer. if you got a shorter swinger with the shock mounted in the same spot it will make your shock stiffer. Idk i look at it how goin from stock to wider aarms.

hotrodbelair said it right. If it's a longer or shorter swinger, your shock needs revalving/respringing. Only way to use it the way it is, is if the new swinger is standard length. If it's +1 1/4 lets say, your shock will ride too soft. Extra leverage on it.

If it works now leave it till you are gonna do a revalve and possibly have it resprung.1" make a huge difference on a swing arm and an a arm.Its all about leverage. But you can call Houser.Depending on if the swingarm is the same as stock or longer will make the difference.I know on the 04/05 everyone went +1.25 but the 06 stocker is longer than the 04/05 so im not sure what you ll be getting on the 06.
