yes and no i got a map selector switch on mine so i can switch it on the fly havent rode it yet so i dont know the diffrence yet

hey guys its been a long time since ive been on this web site.. last time i visited this site i was on a 2001 300ex then upgraded to an 02 400ex then sold that and bought a 99 600 ninja. i now have traded that in and will be getting my 525 on monday. i was wondering what exactly needs to be done to change the ignition mapping? and what performance will i gain. thanks

I put the switch on the fly also, there is a definate power differance in hot mode, revs out quicker but way more punch for holeshot and long straights, I would recommend doing if you intend on racing but for just playing around in the woods, soft mode is all the power you'll ever need, also would come in handy for mx, you would have power on command

I will be getting mine over spring break in about a week. What does it take to change the mapping and where did you get the switch to change it on the fly?

Its just a matter of unplugging your power wire and plugging it into your switch. I think it took me all of about 3 min. including taking the nose peice off.
