I adjusted my chain last night and noticed the manual states that the bolts should be at 23lbs of torque...I have a craftsman torque wrench and have to say that 23 lbs feels alwfully light..I know getting the bolts out, they had more than 23 lbs..anyone else noticed this? did you tighten your bolts more than what the manual states?

In the shop manual it say the torque should be 24 ft-lb with remark L

L:Apply a non-permanent locking agent.

Using loctite lubricates the bolt so it doesn't take as much torque. Take a look at this generic torque chart it will show you the "normal" torque settings for a bolt that is dry or wet. Also look at the bottom of the page to see some BOLT TORQUE FACTORS. It does make a difference.

Thanks to Raskcycle.com for this chart.

Hope this helps.

I've used the 23 and adjusted it several times so far and no problems.
