havin some trouble in the tight trails. what could i do to make the bike steer tigher. possibly grinding the stops on the bottom of the steering stem?

Get some better front tires. something like the Maxxis iRazor fronts or Holeshot GNCC's

grinding the stops will lead to bigger problems. such as bent tie rods and loss of control. tires are a good place to start. if the trails are that tight, then maybe going to a 4-1 offset wheel will help. are you at stock width? the stock wheels are 3-2 offset.
