ur going to get a ton of responses about every kind of oil being the best. and everyone claiming that theirs is the best to use. best thing to do is to run a search here on what people are using. i've seen numerous threads about this very subject.

4 stroke motorcycle synthetic is the best to run if you can afford it. Other than that really any other 4 stroke motorcycle oil is good.

Everyone has their own opinion. I have read tons of posts, many people say good about AMSoil, and many say bad, same thing with most oils. I personally have only heard good stuff about Pro honda products. The GN4 is great for our 400's, and not as expensive as some others

in my 400EX I ran Valvoline auto oil, $7 gal from the auto parts store, not one single problem in 3 years. Just get non-synthetic and you will be fine.

Just change your oil and filter often and you will be fine!

honda gn4, frequency of oil changes is most important. I change mine after 2 days riding or 1 day racing.

Whatever you decide dont use automotive oil. It doesnt have antifoaming additives. Auto oil foams very bad because it wasnt designed for a transmission. Whenever air bubbles get inbetween parts there isnt lubrication causing more ware than a non foaming oil.

Oh yeah, you will be fine with synthetic as long as it is wet clutch safe.

Yeah the klotz is pretty expensive. Its like $5.00 a quart.

Personally, my girlfriend uses Shell Rotella dino oil. Get it at walmart in 5 gallon containers.

I use it on my two kdxs and previously on my wr450. No problems at all.

The key is that any oil these days is pretty good. Bottom line is whatever you use, its very important to change oil frequently because it gets contaminated.

We change her oil after every 2 - 3 rides.

Do a search on oils on the internet!

Yes it will give your oil the ability to "climb" the gears, but it also causes your oil to foam really bad.

someone on here said they phased out the phosphates in auto oil. so its not good for bike trans gears. stick with bike oils they still have the phosphates for proper lubrication.

anyone using 10w40 Castrol motorcycle oil? it's only 5.00 a litre where i live and thats all i've run i just want to know other peoples opinions.
