anyone have any info on putin an oil cooler on a 250x/300ex whats the advantages and disadvanteges?

There are a few oil coolers out there for the 250X/300EX's; Four Stroke Tech (FST) and Jagg's are just a few.

The advantage of a oil cooler is to remove the oil and cool it easier by running it through a remote cooler instead on it keeping some heat from the motor since it is a air cooler motor.

Jagg's replaces the oil filter cover and runs oil to a cooler cooler.

FST's you cut the external oil suppy to the top of the motor. With this system cooler oil is ran down through the motor starting at the highest heat and wear source of the motor.

On the fourwheeler I am building I am installinga FST system along with a factory 350x system simulare to the jaggs system.

Picture below is how I installed the oil cooler on my 350x conversion.

i got a question the external oil supply that you put the coolor to does it just bolt up to it or do you have to cut it and where does the second line run to?

Like do you do it like one line runs off the top then goes through the cooler then back to the bottom where the original line would bolt up?

Just trying to get all the info i can before i buy it

also i was lookin at someone selling a cbr900 oild cooler ever heard of doin this how does it work out if so ?

Has factory oil cooler I cut the factory line to install my oil cooler.
see picture of factory 350x system.

The Jaggs system replaces the oil filter cover and both line connect to that cover.

The FST system used the external oil line that runs from the side case up the back of cylinder to top of motor. You have to cut this line, oil travels bottom to top in this line. So, once this system is installed the heated oil will travel up the line and out to the oil cooler where oil is cooled and then will travel back to the top of the motor in other line.

You can use pretty well any oil cooler out there, you just have to find a way to install it and hook it up.

I am in the process of building up a 300EX I going to install the FST system along with having th e300EX side case machined to used the 350x system.
