any tips for drilling seat foam?

tomorrow (sat. afternoon) im gonna take a look into the theory but are there any important tips, the part im already sweatin is getting the cover back on all straight and even so anything in this department would help a great deal, now my plan was to get a 1/4' drill and start with a staight line up the middle about an 1 1/2' apart and and 1" into the foam and start a pattern on each side and go from there, does this sound good? oh and one last thing what size staples should i look for to put the cover back on?

Try a hi-flite or have verde add an inch or two.. Well worth the cost

well i got it, only took me 3 hrs. (trying to find some f'n staples to work) but in all honesty i dont think it really feels all that different so still i think ill just save and get a quadtech hump seat.

What size holes and how far apart did you drill them? I am thinking about doing mine but I don't want to do it if it doesn't make that big of a difference.

the biggest drillbit i could find was a 5/18 and i did those about an inch from each other (did one row up the center and did kind of a "checkerboard" pattern from there) and an inch down in the foam but id imagine it would be more effective if you had a bigger drill i dont know but with the way i did it you can tell a difference its just not massive.

I wasn't sure about the paddle bit but they work a lot better on wood compared to a regular drill bit. If I do try it I will use my cordless drill and leave it on screw mode so if the foam does grab the clutch will kick in and not BREAK my wrist.

That is the other thing I was thinking about. If the point is to let the foam move more then more smaller holes would be better than fewer bigger holes. At least I think that would be better.

A agree with said above though. I think a bunch of 1/2-3/4 holes would work best.
