Is (3+2) the stock front offset? If not, what wil this offset do, make it wider or narrower?

Posted by: race32

You will want 4 on 1 offset or it will be over 50 inches wide.

Posted by: DVXracer

So the 3+2 offset will make it wider than the stock offset?

Posted by: race32

Yep

Posted by: DVXracer

Alright thanks.

Are you stupid? 3-2 is stock, 4-1 will put you at 48inches wide....UNLESS you are talking about with having wider than stock A-arms

c'mon now thats not nice, def. since u dont know what ur talking about cuz on suzuki's the stock offset is 4-1

Posted by: LTR450_#67

I'm sorry I snapped on the ignorant reply, the stock offset is NOT 4-1 on the LTRs I have a set of stock Z400 rims that I have compared to them and they are identical. Also I put 4-1s on the stock '06 LTR I had and they narrowed it down. Their part numbers are the same 55310-07G10 too!

I don't mean to be a dick but get your facts straight.

Also why is that if you were to run Walsh Race Craft A-arms they tell you to run 4-1 rims to stay within the 50in rule at Nationals?

Posted by: Lonestar_R

the stock rim is actually in between a 4+1 and a 3+2. and I believe its actually a 5.5" rim. Because my Hipers are 4+1's and they are an inch narrower than the stockers

Posted by: LTR450_#67

Same difference

Posted by: race32

Alright smart guy when you put 3 on 2's on yours and sit on it how wide is it? I know for a fact with stock A-arms and 4 on 1 wheels it is 49 3/4 inches wide of and the same width with Robert's racing A-arms. So if I was going to buy new wheels for my LTR and might possibly go to a race where they make you go through a spreader bar I would buy the 4 on 1's to be safe..

I could be wrong and I'm sure you will tell me since you are the LTR genius but I have yet to see aftermarket companies advertise Ltr A-arms in + widths.

Almost all companys offer them in +1/2 or +3/4"

Ditto to that quote... Walsh does make +3/4" ROLL Design makes +1" ( must be how they measure) and pretty much the rest are +1/2" except Lonestar and few others which be stock width.

race32 - To be honest I never put a set of 3-2 rims on my ltr when I had it....I only ran the stockers and 4-1s....I figured the stockers were 3-2s just like most riders would. Maybe your answer explains to me why my LTR with 4-1s was still wider than my a buddy of mines YFZ with +2 A-arms and stock Yammy rims.

How's that for ya.

Ok I just went out to the garage and took some measurements...

Stock 07 LTR with stock wheels and tires...the front end measured 49"

08 LTR with Walsh +.5" arms, stock wheels, and holeshot tires...the front end measured 49 3/4"

i have both wheels (hipers) in 3+2 and i have 4+1, and on stock a-arms the 3+2 are at 48 inches and the 3+2 it is 50 inches. i run pep zps shocks also.If you are dropping the cash on new arms then get 4+1 and a wider arm to make it easier to steer.

Posted by: hanes17

Yes, when you run 3-2 offset wheels you alter the front end steering geometry. It changes where the tire pivots on the ground. With a 4-1 the tire pivots directly in center. With a 3-2 it really dosent pivot and turns in an arc.
