I recently bought my girlfriend an 02' 300ex. It shifts through the gears just fine with no slipping or grinding, but I noticed there seems to be an aweful about of slop when acelerating the decelerating quickly. Is this normal or is there a way to adjust this out?
Thanks

Anyone ??? If the bike is shut off in gear on the garage floor and you push it back and forth how much slop or roll is normal ?

I'd say while off and sitting in gear it will move back and forth a few inches.

Yea, that's normal. Your tire will roll about a tenth of a turn maybe less. There's quite a bit of slop when sitting like that. You get some from the chain, then some more from each gear.
Just of the top of my head when trying to time it, I know that at the tread of the tire on 22's my hand will move a good 6" before the crankshaft moves. If you move it clockwise until it turns, then back counterclockwise it's going to move about that far before it grabs again.

Thank you. That is about the same as we get.
