Now all we need is for someone to get one. Anyone planning on it? Our dealer isnt even ordering one.

Posted by: TWISTED DINLI

i think its kinda ugly lookin. but i may change my mind once i see it in person

Posted by: Hondamaster5505

wow! I just realized they added and rearranged the forums lol.

Posted by: ZSNOW

i think its a bad design. the rear wheels are bigger then the front.ull always be bending rims and ull never be able to find tires...nevermind the fact that its fugly...sorry i was harsh its been a rough day lol

Posted by: coreymx58

this thing i s ugly, id rather just buy a raptor than ride around this alien lookin quad

Posted by: 1965 honda

IRS is no good on a sport quad

Posted by: Hondamaster5505

IMO, its ugly as hell and overweight.

I think it will be one hell of a trail quad though..

Change out the front bumper for an aluminum one, so its not all plastic and utility looking. Take the black part off the front fenders, and it wont look so bad.

Between the IRS and powerful/torquey 650 engine, it'll be one hell of a trail quad like said before.

And in the trails, the weight doesnt matter as much.

So between removing the fenders and a new bumper, it wont look bad either.

I figure with that IRS and the way most riders power slide through most curves, removing most of the plastic and front bumper will happen on their first ride IN THE WOODS.

Posted by: TheNewn

Sure its ugly, but how does it PERFORM? I'd love to see one in person, but no one around here will be getting one unfortunately.

Posted by: 450rRider1105

Ive seen other pics from different websites other then honda and it is really not ugly at all. Anyway you cant judge the quad by the looks. You have to see how it performs. My opinion i have a feel it will do prettywell. We will have to see!

Posted by: 450R_lover

Not saying that this is what I think but, in the newest dirtwheels they had a shootout between the IRS model outlaw and the standard straight axle one. They like the IRS version better. I didnt read the article I just went to the end and saw which one they liked better.

Posted by: twisted threads

Well I think honda could have done better.....as always they hold back for some reason when they build there quads. I think they should have made it a little bit smaller and lighter. As for the looks I think its ugly but it could grow on me. I really like the look of the new 400ex..... now that is a good looking quad. Just my $.02 on it but I will ride red till the day I die!! so it don't matter what they do.... If I don't like it I will change it or not buy it.

Posted by: Jonas

What most people want is a 450r revised with a xr650 motor in it. Basically, what they will get with that is a bigger, heavier, slower accelerating qaud. I am not exited about the looks either. I saw it and sat on it in person at the dealer show and it still looks funky. I don't totally think Honda was off on this one though. They have made a quad that is totally different that what they already have in there line up and, to me, that's kinda nice to see.

Posted by: blbraptor

I saw it at a show in Seattle, but you could not sit on it. I thought that it looked badass in person. Dealers around here are expecting an April delivery. I think that this thing will be hard to beat on the trails. Should be a very good all around quad, but it is made to excel on the trails. I'm glad that someone other than Polaris decided to go this route. I will be getting one.

Posted by: sickmojave

has anyone said how ugly that thing is?? I think that if Batman rode a quad that would be the one he rode..

Posted by: Ogener

The polaris outlaw 525 will own this thing hardcore.

Posted by: TheNewn

How do you figure? the 525 weighs about 400 dry, say about 40 pounds plus with fluids thats a 50-60 pound weight advantage for the outlaw. The Honda has a 686CC motor, fully adjustable rear suspension, and i believe it has better ground clearance as well.

I think they should be right on par with each other, but who's to say, i've never seen either quads in person.

Posted by: R_Hoaglin2

Ive never seen a picture of them, how do they run next to the TRX 450R?

Posted by: TheNewn

Well the 700XX isnt even released yet. So who's to say about that.

I would *guess* stock for stock a 450R would be slightly faster than the heavier 525 outlaw IRS. But i'm not sure.

??? nope, its a 5-speed manual

Posted by: TheNewn

Yeah...look at Honda's website. Its a 5 speed manual with reverse.

Posted by: R_Hoaglin2

The new 700XX weighs in just above 500lbs (508) Where the 450R honda says weighs just weigh 410lbs

?????? Power slide in the woods.......? If you have room to power slide a corner, you're not in the woods you're on a logging trail.....don't believe I've ever seen a rider try to power slide in a hare scramble.

Posted by: twisted threads

I wish they gave a option to have a swingarm and not just IRS. I bet that it will be a strong and fast like the 650 dirtbikes.

Posted by: RATPACK Z400

The 700x weighs 550 with fluids I read ,the 450r weighting 410pds is wrong its dry weight is 360ish how do you get 410pds for a 450r?Its a shame that honda didn,t go the route the raptor did they would have sold out of those things now its going to be up in the air on sales cause of the rearend on it and weighting so much.

Posted by: twisted threads

yep RATPACK I do agree that if honda would have done what people wanted they wouldn't be able to keep one of these new 700's in stock. But I guess giving us only half of what we want is the new honda way

It clearly states on Honda's website, the CURB weight of the 700xx is 508 pounds. Thats full of fluid and completely ready to hop on and ride.

http://powersports.honda.com/atvs/s...delId=TRX700XX8

Couldn't tell you about the 450R though, they're not doing the curb weight yet on it. But i'd be kinda surprised if it was that much under 400 pounds.

Posted by: bennyrae

some trimming of the front fender will cure its usightly appearance, once the front extenders are cut off, will be a sharp machine

Posted by: GE4x4

ATVsport just weighed all the 450's with one gal of gas. The 450R came in at 386lbs. I believe it has a 3.2 gal tank, so another 2.2 gal would add another 14-15lbs. So that would put full wet weight at 400-401lbs.

Yes, the front end plastic is not good looking I would agree. So you modify the front end plastic or purchase a cheap modification to it and you have a quad that looks just like most other honda sport quads. Not a big deal right?

Well it's kind of a big deal in my book. I don't want to by a brand new machine that requires cosmetic work just to make it look decent. Doesn't matter really to me though, it's too heavy to be a sport machine I'd own.

i agree fully

Posted by: loves2spooge

i think they could have done better with the plastics, id change up the front fenders and get rid of that ugly bumper. maybe show a lil more of the motor and it would look ok

Posted by: loves2spooge

i guess im not the first to say that

Posted by: #17YFZRACER

all i have to say about that thing is when i see it i puke in my mouth

Posted by: supersick300ex

When we get our xx I will post a few pictures and a vid of it up against my 450r, my dad has already had ordered his FMF, fast flex bars, custom making nerfbars from a 450, itp’s and much more, He is a big guy and has raced a rubicon in xc for 2 years I think he will easily control the weight

Plus, it might look better when its "in the flesh"

I know everyone thought the 2008 400ex was butt ugly, but when someone got it and posted pictures everyone changed their mind and thought it looked cool.

Plus, if your dad is a big guy, and raced a rubicon, this thing is probably comfortable.

I can see cruising around all day on a IRS power crusier. Plus, go on the videos in hondas website. When someones riding it, it looks sporty and quick.

Posted by: supersick300ex

And since when has looks won races? And iam not saying it looks sweet but, its going to be the most comfortable honda quad for him, he has'nt bought anything else since his first 80cc he is die hard honda "off road" fan! And we're deff. doing somthing with the bumper and frontend I cant wait
