questions about KFX80 exhaust, oil leak, and hesitation

My brother just got his son a 2006 KFX80 for Christmas.


  1. Where the exhaust mounts up to the engine, it looks like there is only one bolt stud and then a screw. Looking at the parts diagrams, I only see one bolt. Is one of these mounts really just a screw?
  2. There seems to be some oil leaking even when the bike is just sitting still. There's also some oil that seems to drip out of the back of the exhaust. I know some oil coming out is normal for two strokes, but should we see anything under the bike?
  3. There's some hesitation when riding the bike. Other than cleaning the carb, draining old gas, and changing the plug, anything else we should look out for?

The pipe mounts to the cylinder with 2 bolts/nuts. Yes it leaks oil out there.
The bog is the famous "LT80 bog" LOL

Keep the air filter clean and run it!!
