the last time i put the plug back in. i noticed it seemed like the threads where starting to wear. any ideas what i can do. helicoil?. also on the older laeger a arms. where can i get replacements ball joints. auto parts store?

replacement ball joints? bushings? bearings? Have you contacted leager at all?

Heli coils work, but why not get a cool head? and Older leagers take VW bug Tie rod end, the newer versions 69-72. But you can update them by having the threaded a arm drilled and tapped for 16mm threads. and the other just drilled. then use the MOOG 3025 parts Geo tracker tie rod ends.

Metric Helicoils are expensive, last time I bought a kit to repair my 300ex's drain hole several years ago it was $70 from Napa.
I'd run the head you have now until it actually starts spitting the plugs out. But in the meantime look for another head, you're running a stock head, right? Those are dirt cheap, you can probably buy 4 of them for the price of one helicoil kit. I'd throw the bad head on the shelf and keep it as a spare, maybe in the future you can helicoil it.

that was what i was thinkin. i got a extra head and the time to do it.
