i was just wondering something about re jetting the pilot. i did rejet mine to the 42 just wondering will i have to change it back to stock come summer? thanks.

You can use the fuel screw to fine-tune the pilot circuit jetting. You can make a 42 pilot jet (for example) behave like approximately anywhere between a "41" and a "43" by adjusting the fuel screw. If a 42 is the correct size for your setup then that should be enough adjustment for winter vs. summer.
Also, in my experience the 400EX is pretty forgiving of rich pilot circuits. You may not notice any difference if you make no adjustment at all.
