i bought my son a mini atv for his birthday this year. it doenst seem like it runs the way it should. It is a 49cc mini quad that i bought for 295 bucks. I dont even know what brand it is. all they call it in the manual is the mini quad 49. it has absolutely no power. i was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with one of these, and if you could give me some pointer on how to tune it up alittle. here is a picture of the quad im talking about

That looks like a 2 stroke weedwacker motor with 4 wheels.... they are junk.... Try a new spark plug is about all I can say or if its new, get a hold of the dealer you bought from & return the thing. They are the same motors as the junk pocket bikes...those are more novelty things than machines.

You pay for what you get...a better generic would be a RED Cat for about $600...The way we ride --this would also be trashed in a day.

try a new plug. make sure youre oil and gas mixture is right, you have to premix them. if it has a air filter make sure its clean. clean it after every ride if especially if riding in a dusty area. if it has a fuel filter check that. you could take it to a chain saw shop and have them look at it.

you need to check the chain, it needs to be loose, if it's to tight it binds and will have no power.
