I have heard this in a few banshees it sounds like nuts and washers in the exhaust or something. is it actually nuts and washer in the pipe or is it the chain?

Its probably the kickstarter they like to rattel like a sum*****. A Modquad Rebuild kit is a good way to fix it by 90%.

yeah i just got rid of my shee (ill miss it) but it rattled like hell, the vibrations eat the hell outta the washers.

Are you wondering about the stock silencers? When I had mine off I could shake them and they would rattle...

i know about the kickstarts but never heard of a rattle in the silencer??
Even when you grease them damn kickstarts they still wanna rattle after 1 ride

The stock silencers will sometimes rattle after some years...that is all I have heard, don't think any aftermarket ones rattle unless they are loose.
Easy way i fixed my kick starter rattling was take it off, take it apart, add a o-ring to where the kicker connects back to the base, and then put it back on the quad. Rattle was gone for a year until the o-ring wore out, but meh didn't cost me anything.

Man noise like that makes me think detonation. Are you running a milled head or a coolhead with small domes or a big timing advance on low octane fuel?

well if it was dentonation then the bike wouldnt start. But normally a rattle in pipes is because a piece of piston or such blew out the exhaust port and got stuck in the pipe. but if the bike still runs then maybe a rock or 2 manged into your pipe or have you had to rebuild topend b4?

You can still start the bike and run the bike if you have some Detonation happening. Unless you have ran with detonation long enough to do damage, then it wont start.

If your running a silencer package that has the spark screen's after they builb up they won't let the small stuff pass. It will collect in the expansion chambers and keep fussing together till thwere are auctually little balls bouncing around in the pipes. Drill the rivets out get rid of the screen's and dump the pipe's. I've seen this on all 2-stroke bikes. And above all if your running stock pipes get rid of them.

hey i've got bloods old banshee, they just rattle ride with a helmet and try to ignore it, its their nature, my other banshee does the same, the rattle the fenders loose, my stock pipe shields vibrate off my other one, the kickstarters bounce all over the place, they just rattle theirs no nuts in the pipe.

I think all of them rattle a little. How bad is the rattle cause mine had a bad rattle once and it finally blew the top end a few weeks after it started the rattle. What happened was the wrist pin bearing came apart and went into the exhaust port and beat the hell out the top end when it came back into the cylinder. So it may be that cause like I said mine ran great for a couple of weeks!
