Wanted to see if anyone was running synthetic for gear oil? Manual says 10-30 oil. I was going to pick up some royal purple synthetic but thought I would ask around first.

go with what it says or use a synthetic formulated for clutches, if you use a synthetic only it is to slippery and you will have problems with clutch slippage.

best bet for crank case oil is just normal yamalube.

Belray 85Wt gear oil is all I have ever used for the last 8 years. Never had any problems. Clutches last me 3 years.

Belray is a good oil I used to run too. I liked it because you could tell when it turned purple it was time to change. Now I just run regular old ATF fluid and just change it more often.
