im talking about in motor size a 45 mm crank and a 50 mm top end or a 42 mm crank and a 52 mm top end you have comments to help me with this

kinda like wich came first the chicken or the egg, ive seen both and i think you will find apretty even split between peoples comments, i prefer 45mm and 50mm combination

i have two motor both have 45 mm cranks and people keep saying you need a 42 52 well i got two 45 mm cranks not two 42 or one of each

I think that drr5 works with motors so he would know more then me but...
I have 42-52 mix and seems to work great. To my knowledge most if not all the DRR 90 and Pred. 90 come stock 42-52. I'm sure 45-50 will work fine to though.

well if you have the crank already i would use the 50mm top end im sure someone with much more knowledge can answer your questions better than me but i like the small bore longer stroke ,to me they build the rpms faster and im sure the opposite has its plus as well i think either way you can get great results but if you have the cranks use em

i always liked the 45 x 50. the longer stroke motors seem to have more grunt in my opinion.

just like race cars, if you have a light car you use small crank big piston , hevy car you want torque so big crank, so if your going round and round small crank and if your doing woods racing you want torque

My mighty LT80 motors have a 42 stroke and a 50mm bore.
I've built 43 1/2x50,45x50,45x52 and, 45x54
They all run great and it's very hard to say if one is faster than the other.
I do think that a shorter stroke turns rpm's faster.
I do think a longer stroke gives more torque.
I do think that with a well tuned CVT it's hard to tell the difference.
