i want to take off my clutch cover and polish it or paint it, if i take it off is a bunch of s*** going to spill out, do i need to drain the oil or do any thing else?

There is oil in there, or at least there should be

You might be able to prop up the right side and maybe get away without draining the oil.

There's a spring on the lifter arm that may come off. Watch for dowel pins, they may be on either the outer case or inner case. Be aware of the seals for the oil lines too.
