I have a spare motor for my 87 250x and i split the case to replace the crank bearings, I cant seem to get the case back together right, i used a press the get the bearings in. I have about and eight of an inch gap and if i squeeze it together the crank wont move. I'm afraid to heat it up to much. If anyone is interested in buying the motor let me know.

i assume you're having a hard time getting the left side of the crank in the bearing? that's because it has a slight press fit on the left journal. you need to heat up a spacer or socket on the left inner bearing race to expand it, and freeze the crank and it should go in. if not you may need to use a puller to get it all the way. you can use light taps from a plastic hammer but you risk throwing the crank out of true.
