I was given a 87 250x that was all pulled apart and in boxes. I put new crank bearings and connecting rod in and rebuilt top end. I finally got it all together and it started second kick. Its idling real high unless choke is half way on. If the choke is completely on it dies. I took it for a quick ride and it didn't have much power. Do you think this is just a carbeurator adjustment or something more. There is no tick in the engine at all. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you need to adjust the carbuerator. Is it stock exhaust? If it isnt you might need to jet the carb... if the carb is jetted with stock exhaust i'd suggest taking the jets out or buying an aftermarket one.. hope i helped maybe a little lol

make sure there are no leaks in the carb boot to the head and airbox, try adjust idle and see if that helps
