450r:

-04/05 carbs are 42mm

-06+ are 40mm FCR carbs.

whats the difference and what is better?

Posted by: pro-rider46

the 40 mm is a lot better, i dont no why, but it is for sure, and you can get them bored to 43mm, and it add like 4-5 hp more than a stock 42mm carb

The FCR is a totally different carb. It doesn't have the butterfly flapper on it. That gives you quicker throttle response.

my 43mm 07 CRF FCR carb is the best carb available.

I was the first one to perfect and the first one to offer a taper bore FCR carb....

now, everyone else has tried to copy my taper angles because my carb kicks arse.....

see i was just wondering because I want to put a 450r carb on my 400ex. how much more is the FCR than the regular?

The 04/05 carb doesn't have the "butterfly flapper" either.
FCR is has a flat slide and the 42 has a round slide.

a brand new DRG 07 FCR 43mm taper bore carb with adapter machining and hot start cable for $780- fits an 04/05

without adapter is $710- fits 06+

or for the 06+ you can taper bore the OEM carb to 43mm for $260
