help, 250x, fmf exhaust, 400ex carb, stock cam, engine runs & dies after a few minutes run time, when it starts to dies it starts to sputter & back fire out of carb like it is out of time, have done all electrical tests, per manual, all ok, has good spark & have cleaned carb & fuel tank, timing & valves are correct. note, this thing has ran 2 years with this setup & ran good, went for first ride of season then this happend. possible cdi. help please..

i would try replacing your ignition coil with a known good one,then try your cdi,i would be willing to bet its electrical though

Hows that 400ex carb work for you? Did you notice a big difference?

when it was running it ran great, had plenty of power thru out all rpm ranges, just got new cdi & coil today, will install tonite & run test, will reply if it fixes problem.

Maybe gas left in carb? idk just a guess... if anything id suggest changing the ignition coil, also i am thinking about getting the 400ex carb for my bike too heard a lot of good reviews on it from people on this site.
