i just pick up a mint 1999 400ex and was wondering what are some of the first mods you guys suggest on doing. it has nerf bars and different hand levers and handle bars but other wise stock. im thinking pipe but what else??? and what pipe gives the best performance with out being outrageously priced? and is a full system worth the extra money???? thanks in advance
thanks again.

hmf slip on seems to be the way to go.
the full wont really give you anymore gains if the motor is stock

I'd say new tires (if it needs it) hmf slip on with the powerbomb header rejet filter. But first would be skid plates! Protect your investment

first on my list would be pipe/re-jet, then air filter, then nerfs.

Get a .250 PRM swingarm skid. A front bumper and a PRM desert grab bar. Then maybe the pipe filter rejet. Then suspension.

agreed on this 1, stock headers are actually oversized already if nobody already knew that. Honda did that so you could really wake up the motor with a differen exhaust
