Nice 300s guys, mine at the moment is also a work in progress but can't really have it sitting around disassembled as i want to be riding every now and then. So when i find parts i buy them put them on like when i've got spare time and ride every chance i get.

thanks for the compliments, i take pride in doing everything but the welding myself with a little help from some friends. it was deffinitely a budget build, but i think it turned out quite well.

well i havent really got to test it to the fullest, we had problems with the shocks. first i bought some shocks from ebay only to find out they were beyond repair. So then i put mine off of my 400 on there, and it ran well, but the rear wasn't right, so we didnt really get to test it. I have a full set of tcs shocks on the way as we speak so i will definitely let you know how it rides.

dude, fast mod list on the that 300 man, lol seems nicely set up im on a budget with mine to buying a 400ex front end and 350x axle for mine. but i really like that yours a mod list would give me some ideas.

I got the lonestar +2 250r a -arms, with spindles, stainless steel lines with calipers and the master cylinder, the handlebars, and the tie rods for a little over $200

The swingarm and axle was given to my by a friend.

the linkage was like $20

I just got a full set of tcs shocks for $280

The rear caliper for a 450 was $50

The exhaust was $50

The front wheels were given to me.

I already had the backs lying around.

It has a new lonestar carrier in it. $180

The shock relocator was $30

We paid $1600 for the quad, and sold all of the stock parts that
i took off for $350

I think we did pretty good.

Klutch beware of the 450r shocks with 400ex arms on a 300ex. It sounds like a great idea, but unless you are about 300 pounds or more the front end will be way to stiff. I tried it and unless the shocks are revalved and resprung it will be a terrible ride. I installed 400ex arms and the shock relocator, put on my 07 450r take offs and standing on the front bumper could barely move the front end. Thats 190lbs on the bumper. Not everything that is posted as being a great improvement really is.

Yeah sorry for the bad news. My wife with riding gear might be 115. I am thinking about selling the 450r shocks and buying some elka's or something but not to sure. I was looking for a cheap upgrade as well, but it didn't turn out to be a smart upgrade.

Well i talked to my dad last night he says he still wants to give it a try as we are getting the 450r shocks for only 75 dollars, if he feels it isnt good we will put them on Ebay too lol.

you are gonna be over the legal 50" limit... you should be with plus 400ex a arms at around erm 51.5... i'd say 400ex plus ones would be best puts you at 49.5

ill prolly end up flipin them back cuz thers a tight spot on my track that i wont be able to fit through. or i could just go the wider quad way around the tight squeeze haha we had to make a lil thing around it for my bros quad he's got a wider axle so couldnt fit through.

Ya its the 08 plastic on a 06 frame. fiting them up was not to bad i just had to make all of my fender brakets. I also had to take a heat sheald off a trx450R to put on my HMF to keep the heat off my rear fenders. but that was about it.

I like the red/white/black color scheme but it would look a little better if you had taken the time to mask off the bushings and seals before painting. Looks good otherwise. I am going for a the same colors on mine but I don't have much white on there... yet.

Here's mine...looks orange in the pic but it is the stock honda red.

Don't get me wrong the overspray isn't that bad..I guess I'm just picky lol. Mine was going to be just red and black also but I thought it needed more. It was kind of plain with only 2 colors. I still need to get rid of that stupid 6 pack rack and put a real grab bar on there though. Let us know how that white on the swinger holds up. I thought about pc'ing mine white but I was afraid the chain lube would make it look like crap in no time. I really like the white upper a arms though.

yes it is scooped... i'm going to start this build tomorrow, going to take off my old shocks and a-arms, to put on my 400ex arms, and 450 shocks, need it all done before Saturday.. if it isn't i suppose i'll have to use my dad's 400ex lol

Well bad news... i got to work on my front end today thats all going fine, though my rear axle bearings are shot... I will have to replace the carrier and bearings. It might be a week or to before i can truly finish my bike.

Nd kinda sounds like my house bro comes up to me n is like hey can u fix this(front left bearings are GONE) i told him ill fix it if u pay for the parts n pay me to do it. Also told him the problem those went so fast is because he needs to replace the spindle from when he bent it.

I mean come on why waste ur money on replacing the bearings every 2 month instead of buying a new spindle and making them least longer.

well my dad said hed pay for the bearings and i wont switch carrier till i can buy a new axle first. so im going to replace my bearings and i will be able to ride next weekend hopefully. Time to start saving for a G-Force Axle lol

Forgive the messy garage.. been doing a lot of work on the house. The garage remodel is coming up soon.

Quad's an XC setup obviously. Stock width w/ works shocks. 330cc FST motor. Durablue axle. Fullbore plastics. etc.. nothing too fancy. She get's the job done though.

yea mine cracked right where the carrier housing is welded to the actual swing arm. i crack 3/4 of the way across the back on the top and bottom it cracked right along the factory weld
it sucked

I loved it when i used it. Ran great very reliable. Mine hated water

Im a trail rider also i dont have mine set up for mx, it is wider and stuff but i still need it to not be too wide to where i cant fit through the trails.

It a 02 300ex with a 350 cylinder and a curtis sparks exhaust and scooter tires on the front and 450r radials on the back a stock axel on the back an afco shock on the back I'm competitive with most 450's o yea its on alchohol and nitro.

New bars and clutch lever are on the way. No excuse, the bike handled fine. Now and then ya just end up upside down.
