i saw a 400ex with dual looney tuned and a big bore, but it does not run the same, its quieter, i prefer louder pipes, and it only increases 6-6.5 HP, retail and discount areas usualy sell it for $700.00, other pipes such as a big gun or a yoshi improve the hp by the same, and are a lot cheaper, the only positive side is the air box it comes with, i think it stinks.. any one else seen dual looney tuned?

yea, this subject has been discussed before... do a search. most of the aim of this product is to be diffrent. they look cool but personally i dont think they offset the cost for performance.

its been disscussed before but i jsut wanna c what people think about it now, i think it looks good but is 700 dollars worth it?

Posted by: oleboy87

i would say no its not worth it and it just adds more weight to the quad that is not needed... but hey if you want the looks then its all you!

Posted by: red_rider_069

the looney tuned ehaust is perfect fro the people who want to show off there bikes, it increases the same amount of HP as most other pipes, heres what it looks like, no doubt it looks awsome but look at the holes coming out of the exhaust, there very small which makes the sound a lot quieter, i'd get it fro looks , but i dont have my bike for looks, please type a responce for what u think and if u think the 700$$ if worth it

Posted by: oleboy87

well it looks damn good but i personally wouldn't pay 700 for it...

it also comes with an aluminum air box which holds ur battery and it comes with a jet kit , now that makes people think about the 700 dollars

Posted by: trx400EXtreme

yea IMO its not worth it at all....unless your building a show bike. they dont add anymore power than i single pipe does.

Posted by: oleboy87

i agree with trx400extreme and you gotta think of the extra weight of another pipe that is not needed..

Posted by: red_rider_069

duals give u more acceleration, but singles would beat a quad through out a drag.. its not much of a diffrence though .. im tallking about a completely stock quad with only pipes jets and maybe k&n

Posted by: red_rider_069

the wight bearly makes a diffrance unless ur doing free style

Posted by: oleboy87

it sounds like you want it soo bad... every time we give you advice you have a come back.... i mean in the end its all up to you and what you are looking for... if you have the extra money and want your bike to stand out then go for it!

the 400ex was not made to have a header cming out the left side therefore i see myself buning my leg on that side. aluminum air box $175 lets call it that will fall apart, jets kit under $50. so were at $225 so $475 left for exhaust. its not so bad at all but the fact of you can burn your leg i wouldnt get it. where would you route the exhaust, look at the frame on the left and look at it on the right, it seems the exhaust is made for the right only

Posted by: red_rider_069

lol im not trying to make a come back for the exhaust i personally only like it for looks.. and i wouldnt buy it.. i jsut want feed back about what other people think about it.. and since im only getting feed back from people who dont like it i have to have an arguement to see if they have any other points of view.. amd im not sure it it would burn your leg good point

Posted by: oleboy87

ha well i understand... good point though!

Posted by: red_rider_069

well i checked up on how it would fit on the right side... unless ur legs are an inverted bow your fine so you wont be burnt and the weight diffrence is only 2 lbs.. which to me dont sound like much.. any more feed back?

IMO most exhaust systems are overpriced for what they do.

I had a set of LTE's for awhile, bought it used for a decent price. Best features.. it's something different, nice tone & sound level, has an oohh aahh factor. Can't comment on performance because the only other exhaust i've used is the WB E-series and i'm not a HP junkie

Fitment is OK, no worry about burning legs anymore than other pipes, even the left side. Having the header close to the starter had me a little concerned along with the breather hose and tank.It appeared a previous owners breather tank may have melted against the pipe. I wrapped the breather tank with some foil insulating tape and had no problems.

Changing the main jet is kinda a pain, not as easy with the stock type header at least.

yea they are over priced.. how do they sound? is it loud?
