Can someone give me an idea of what gearing I should be using for my mx setup.

265 PV mid to top end port 38mm AS carb with a sparks TT pipe.

18 in turf tamers on the rear.

is pretty much standard depending on track,some people run 14/38

i run 14/38 and it seems to work pretty well..... 14/36 would be more top end correct?

yeah, with slightly less responsiveness coming out of corners... i run 14/38, but I prefer to let the motor lug its way out of corners versus slipping the clutch. to each his own

either of the two gears that were mentioned will work but ultimately you'll want to try a combination yourself to see which your quad likes the best for the riding en setup you have.
