I've talked to numerous people with 06-07 450r's that if u cut the solid green wire on the left cdi it gives u 1300 more rpms...

I've been thinking about trying it,has anyone heard of this or done it???

yep, there is a little difference, not much though

yeah theres a wiring harness in the HRC Kit that does this.I didnt cut mine!!

Posted by: cthomps07

I thought it was only 1000 rpms... Yes it does work I didnt cut mine I just got the cdi subarness in the hrc. It does the same thing.

there is a shop in st. joe mo. that makes a harness just
like the hrc kit. (dirt shack)
plug-n-play beats cutting wires anyday.

cutting it is free and can be reversed

i'm not really sure about the 05...i tried it this past weekend at the ironman..it didnt hurt the quad...but i dont think it really helped it either

Posted by: TRX450R_Racer

I don't think so.

i had to rephrase that a lil...it helped the quad as far as RPM's but my quad seemd to pop more instead of the sound u hear when u hit the limiter

So you are saying that you cut a wire on a '05?

Posted by: Colby@C&DRacing

cutting the green wire on the 06 takes the limit to 10,700

Posted by: baker400ex

How high does it rev stock?

Posted by: ltothaj1

i did cut the wire on an 05'....i clipped it at the cdi box, and then insulated it with electrical tape...i could take some pics if u all want

or....u can just buy a aftermarket cdi......that way you cant go wrong and if it fries something you can turn it on the cdi manufacturer.....in some cases
