Please explain why they are garbage. I am considering the same ones for my KFX450.

Posted by: spanky101

I have heard that their fitment sucks, they have been broken and their customer service sorta stinks but i havent dealt with it first hand.

Posted by: mx1791

they where made of paper thin aluminum. i could snap the heelguards off my pulling on them and the peg really wasnt sharp. they mounted up easy but had a horrible, weak mounting system.

Posted by: musser_who?

i bought a set for my yamaha and they dont have a good fastning spot in the front where normal nerfs go through the frame this has a thin cheesie bracket that bolts to the frame in the front of the motor. But they are light

Posted by: erac4019

Does anyone have any real experience with the Alba or Rock nerfs? I'm still shopping around for nerfs and I'm interested in how these mount up in the front on the KFX.

The nets would be nice for some things. In XC racing, they wont get so full of mud like the more solid style do.

Posted by: Yee-Haw_400EX

Nets as heel guards are as queer as a 3 dollar bill.

well u get what u pay for...if u want good name brand quality nerfs that are going to fit good and last, ur gunna have to drop the coin. i dont see any top name brands selling their nerfs with pro pegs and heel guards for anywhere near 200 bucks...maybe that should tell you something?

Posted by: T2RACING

That is tru sometimes, but that is not always the case. A lot of times you pay for what name gets stamped and printed on the part. I have seen a few large name companies products that you pay big bucks for be like thin pop can material that is Junk. I am not going to go into specific brands because if someone has that brand and reads it they will be like "oh no it is the best stuff ever" I am just giving you my honest unbiased opinion..

That is usually true but not always. Alba is a large and successful company and I know they do alot to make sure their customers are happy, thats why I was considering their nerfs + they're $50-$80 less than the others. I'll probably end up with the AC Pro-Peg nerfs, I think they look the best but I've never had good experiences with the way their parts fit. Nothing ever just bolts on like its supposed to!!!

Posted by: kfx400rider03

i got ac pro pegs for my kfx400 and they bolted on fine. everthing lined up and they dont move at all.

Posted by: Ex_Rider43

You get what you pay for in this world definatly.

Alba , Rock , Artraxx , and everything that looks like one of those garbage products .. well is garbage really. I tried a set of artraxx last year in florida and they were everything but good : replaceable ALUMINUM footpeg , weak mounting system , very thin and weak material used, when using stock 450r tires , my friend went through the tubing in about 30 minutes because the tire would touch the heelgard when the suspension compressed. Im also pretty sure that they are made in china.

Posted by: Yee-Haw_400EX

If I can't find anything else, I think I'm going to buy the Albas. They look like they're constructed really well. I prefer AC ProPegs because I have a set on my 400EX and they cost $200 back in 2002. They are the best nerfs I've ever seen. The ones for my KFX450 are WAY overpriced though. They are close to $300! The other set I like are the Pro Armor RacePegs or FatPegs. They're really beefy and nice, but are $300 or more. These Albas look nice and are the right price.

Says who? like billdog said, the Rath netted heel guards work great for XC racing, they dont pack up with 10 pounds of mud like the others.

If you are going to get them, i found you a better deal/price on exactly the same thing. Rock makes EXACTLY the same thing. and here they are for 204 SHIPPED.

This site has free shipping on purchases over 100 dollars. 2 day Fedex. My dad just got nearly the same ones in for his Raptor 700 and he likes them very much.

I'd say get them, they are a great deal.
