Wow! **applause**

How much fab work was required to put the 300 engine in the R chassis? Would a stock 300 pipe and 250r airbox have worked? I do like the center exit though.

Awesome job

We cut pretty much all of the old engine mounts, exhaust mounts, electrical mounts etc off. And made all of our own mounts for everything. The engine fits pretty well into the frame, but you have to fabricate a gas tank because it is alot taller than the 250R engine.

I'm working on the same thing. I can't wait to get it all together.

Mine will probably be a bit easier because the frame was made for it, but I like the LTR silencer.

I'm curious where you put the battery and if the 300ex electrical works with a 250R headlight. Are those a new style powermadd?

Posted by: Live2Ride300

We mounted the battery right in front of the two white motor mounts. You can see it hiding there in the pictures above. All you need is the correct connector for the headlight. We wired it into the factory switch. I'll have to take some pictures with all of the fenders off, we have all the electronics in one spot. We kept everything real clean. There is still some final touches I've yet to do though.

It's hard to tell in the pictures but the green powdercoat has alot of sparkles in it and looks totally different in the sun.

Yes they are the new style powermadd guards.

anything done to the 300 motor or is it stock?

Posted by: Live2Ride300

Currently stock, besides the full exhaust and intake setup, carb jetted. It actually has some good power for a stock 300EX My girl is still learning how to ride.

good clean swap! i like it alot stock looking 88-89 r's look sick

awsome lookin' quad

250R bumper options are starting to become limited so, we built our own front bumper mounts, and set it up to take a 400ex/450r bumper.

how many people helped out? how long did this project take, abd what did your girlfriend say?

Posted by: Live2Ride300

My brother and I built it in about 2 weeks.

She probably would have been fine with a stock 300EX, but you know how that goes. We got a realll good deal on a blown up 86' R and just got crazy with it.

Wow. That has to be the coolest hybrid i've ever seen. I'd love to have something like that. Hell, if you're selling it, I'd buy it if you were closer to me. F***ing awesome.

Edit: Is that LTR silencer stock and all? could you mount up an after market one in its place or did you mod the mid pipe? And why is that silencer still corked? pull that sucker out.
