follow along as i build it. might take a while and im sure ill make some mistakes but this is it. ive got a complete 2003 gsxr 750 that is in pieces and ive got 2 400ex quads im parting out. my plan is to make a strictly drag quad out of the parts i have. im ordering a +12 ladder bar swinger, and using a mostly stock 400ex bike to start with. ive researched this for a while and asked many questions, so hopefully, all of the knowledge ive obtained will help. here goes. pics of the parts are coming, be patient.

gathered some parts n put them in boxes, im going to cut the ball joints off of the stock 400 arms and fab some sleeves for a ball joint from a car.

pics tomorrow

haha, im late on the pics, big surprise. its hard being busy. im taking the frame and the motor to my dads shop to start cutting and mocking it up in a couple of days, ill take pics then.

parts are at the shop, planning on breaking down a 440ex race bike with my buddy tomorrow, might get the gsxr motor out and measure later.

still no updates, i have other things in the way. ive been thinking about how im going to cut and stretch it, fit plastics, make the motor removable easily. its going to come together, just gonna take some time. ill get pics soon.

oh, and my buddy has a CR500 motor mounted on a 400ex, just needs to be wired. ive got pics of that, post em tomorrow.

Damn that look like a nice install. Do you know what pipe he used?

Posted by: Black R/T

im using the subframe from the GSXR along with the rear plastics and seats, gonna be a two seater, haha! oh, and im using the newer 400ex plastics and a 07 450r hood to hide the no headlight. im only using the rear sets from the gsxr for the passenger, the driver pegs will be stock 450r.

Your building Frankenstein's monster lol. I can't wait to see it all take shape.

current setup on my R, i went back to stock arms and swinger. beast in the woods!

oh and i put nerfs, 1 1/8th bars, and the holeshots and 501s are back on.

i think its going to have alot to do with gearing, low enough to let the high reving power plant do its job. tall tires will play a big part too. i may end up converting to a 3 cylinder arctic cat motor. BIG HP numbers from those things. and alot lighter.
