im thinking of selling my 06 ltr for an 08, ive heard alot of good stuff bout the 08's. Is it worth selling the 06 for 08?

I don't think so. Get a set of cams, pipe and filter with the money you would loose by switching and you will stomp on stock 08's. I think the 08's biggest advantage is in a stock vs stock comparison. Once you start modding them the playing field is leveled out.

I am about to rebuild the 06 I just bought a month ago...will the new stock 08 Cams work in the 06 motor? Since they are more of a bottom end cam that is what I need for XC
