Stuffer Crank ?????

I am wondering if anyone can help me with this decision? I have read and heard about stuffer cranks but know very little about them. I know that the 90cc comes with a 45mm crank but have read about people using 42mm stuffers. My main questions are...do they work? how much of a difference? what size do I need if I do this? Thanks in advance.

Actually, the 90cc uses a 42mm stroke. The stuffer crank fills in unwanted voids in the crank. This closes up cc's in the crankcase. The reason to use a stuffer is to get more air/fuel on top of the piston. With a stock crank you have all that space for the air/fuel to rotate around the crank. This is not where you want it. The more air/fuel you get on top of the piston through the transfers as the piston is on its downward stroke the more power you will make. If its around the crank, you can't ignite it.

Thanks for the clarification and info. Thats exactly what I was looking for. If you have them for sale please send a PM. Thanks, Kevin

I'm exhausting all the options and companies I can find about a 42mm crank. No one seems to have them. Anyone have a suggestion where to get one and cost?? I would like to start putting the motor back together very soon. Thanks

Have you checked with the place we discussed last night....For the full circle version...

I checked with them right away this morning and he told me he would have to check into it more but didn't have one. The other places I've checked have told me they are out of stock due to the supplier being out. Which leads me to believe they all get them from the same supplier. That's why I thought I'd throw a bone here and maybe someone has one in a corner some place. I do have 1 call to make when I get home though so all hope is not lost yet. Thanks Gary

if u want to get some power out of it put a 54mm piston and a hi comp head and a 45mm crank and that puts you at 110cc and i think you have to shave down the case some weres but not sure

I've thought about this but it would put my daughter in a bigger class racing kids with JB mods. A CVT will never compete. We also want to hit a couple nationals if we can this year and the big bore will not fly in the CVT classes there either. I'm just trying to get everything I can for the classes we're in. Hopefully in a year or 2 we go to a JB mod ourselves. Thanks though.
