I'm getting about 40 hours out of these hinson baskets before they're getting notched...
Anybody else have this trouble?
What's the remedy?

are you worried about this is it hurting it

40 hours doesn't sound good. You should get several hundred before you have a problem.
Does it spin true? I've seen motors with slightly bent mainshafts. The motor runs, but the clutch will wobble in the basket, which would obviously cause it to wear incredibly fast.

I ride it in the sand. Clutch use between all gear shifts. Not many high rev starts. I'll look at the mainshafts and see.

what plates are you using?? Barnett plates, I have been told are known to groove baskets, as the plates are a harder material than the basket. I'm going almost 5 years on a hinson basket with no signs of grooving, using oem plates and fibers.

I use the barnet dirt digger and other high performance clutches and springs on my hinson basket for 5 years also and no problems.

Go with stock honda clutch plates, the barnett plates really suck. i ate through one hinson clutch basket before i switched back to the honda plates and everything has look so since.
