i was looking at some dyno charts for different exhausts and i came upon one that read : dyno chart for national motor. what is a national motor, i feel pretty dumb having to ask that but i dont have a clue. is it an engine built completely by a certain type of company like sparks or rossier... or is it an engine brand?

You are correct. It is just a fancy name for a motor built by Sparks,Dasa,Rossier ETC... that is competitive on a national level.
