not sure on what a fair price would be, what do you experts think
its an 88 with possible 86 87 parts. from what i can gather

bored 80 over
wiseco piston
cr headgasket
hot rod and crank
v force reeds and cage
38mm carb
bills head pipe ( i think)
lrd silencer
magura hyd clutch
hinson basket
k and n filter
dg bumpers
lonestar carrier
good chain and sprockets

needs a few fender brackets and the shocks need reworked. missing rear skid but has belly skid. i have and extra 88 89 length swingarm.

Where I am from I think $2500 would be optimistic. Although you don't want to hear it my opinion would be $1750-$2000. R's just don't bring much any more unless they have aftermarket suspension, aftermarket frame and/or big bore or powervlave motor.

It makes me mad to think of all the money that I have put into my R and it's value has dropped alot in these past years.
I think by the looks of your bike and what you have in it, it's worth a least $2500, no less. I would'nt sell mine for the world!

Don't get me wrong, I think it is a shame the R's have taken such a sharp decline in value. You will see in my sig I do own and have owned several R's. I was just trying to give an objective opinion of value in my area. Unfortunately the money we have in our quads and what they are worth are very different amounts. We simply can't value these quads based on the amount invested.

that was pretty much my question because i know whats in it, and i know how the popularity has fallen. i may not get rid of it just cause i dont want to give it away. i still love it, but my 06 450r and now my new 08 gets more attention. thanks guys

Trust me....... I would keep any 250R before selling for $2500. I am a die hard 250R two-stroke guy! The only reason to give in to 4 strokes would be for racing purposes like factory support. My 250R`s have no problem with 450`s and can out handle them. However resale these days is tough. If you find a smart individual willing to put TLC into your bike, he would be rewarded by the R gods!!! lol

I like your mentality doc! I can't wait to finish my cosmetic/suspension overhaul. I personally think the "R Gods" were on my side.
