Rear suspension torque/chain rub problem

I added some works shocks to our 04 eton viper...I am having a problem now with the chain rubbing on the swing arm..It only rubs when the throttle is applied hard from a stop which causes the swing arm to "torque" downwards..At first it wasn't a problem but now my son is riding much more agressive and the chain is wearing through the little rubber guard on the swingarm....Is there an easy fix for this?...I was thinking about maybe attaching a piece of small cable from the rear of the frame down to the swingarm to limit its downward travel...There are likely better ways to limit the travel but nothing easy I can think of...Or is there a better alternative for the swing arm roller?

A larger front sprocket comes to mind, but then you have to watch the frame for chain rub. Replacing the rubber with a plastic pipe might be a option also.

Kyle’s has always done that… I’ve never had a problem with it. The stock Kasea has a piece with a like hump in it that the chain rides on. I was going to get one and never did………. But if I was you I wouldn’t worry about it. You can’t see it that good in this pic. When the quads on the ground it rides just above it.

I am concerned it will wear right into the swingarm if I don't put something there to stop it or else keep it from touching altogether..The chain does not touch when the quad is at rest,just when he first nails it and the rear end arches upward.

I'd keep an eye on it or make some changes. I know of at least one quad where it was not watched and it did cause a problem and the dad was not happy..
You should also watch the frame rail .

I use a small piece of 1 1/4" id X 1 3/4" od UHMW or Nylon pipe/tubing and I cut a slot into it so I can snap it over the pivot tube and fit over the cross gusset on my swing arms. It works just like a chain slide on any big bike swingarm.

UHMW offers a combination of excellent properties – outstanding abrasion resistance, superior impact resistance, non-sticking and self-lubricating properties and excellent mechanical properties, even in cryogenic conditions. It is a self-lubricating material that is chemical, corrosion, and wear-resistant. The pink one pictured is form material specialy dyed for a local car wash that uses the UHMW in a roller that moves the tire along and it wont mark anything.

I have used Delrin as it has many of the same characteristics of metals such as brass, aluminum, zinc, and stainless steel. Some of Delrin's comparable properties include stiffness, dimensional stability, impact resistance, and structural strength.

when we put our first worcs shock on the eton about 3 years ago we had a similar problem. BUt maybe more extreme. Turns out the shoc had some bad innerds and came blown with no rebound. We sent it back and got the new one on...no more issues. Might not be the same issue, but just thought i would throw it out there.
