Well, I have a honda 450 but I want something different. I have heard alot of good things about the LTR becuase of how wide it is and other good things. The one I am looking at is a 2006 with mods like nerfs/walsh pin relocator/cherry bomb/yoshi exhaust/ fox evo L front shox/pro taper bars and some other things like Beadlocks and thats about it. Can you guys tell me of any problems that there might be with this year LTR 450 and do you guys know of any changes that are going to be made any time soon? I have time to wait I just don't want to buy one and then they come out with a better engine and a better styling. Also that whining in the transmission that I have heard about, is that a very serious problem like do they break or anything after a while and do you guys know of other weird noises they make? Also do they have a good bit of bottom end since the wheels are real small in the rear and how would you guys say they would compare with my 2004 honda?

The gearing and power (stock) felt the same as my fully built 450r... the transtion was very easy. the 08's have a bunch of updates but less than the 05-05 to the 06 450r. just internal mods, and the trannys do have a tendency to blow...but what high performance tranny last more than 2 yrs of HARD abuse?

i don't know what mods you have on your 04 trx, ...but my 04 had a 13.5 weisco piston, Dr.D full exhaust , k and n filter and was of course jetted accordingly, and i put the stock cam out of an 04 crf450in it, and my 06 lt-r with a pipe,..cherrybomb,..lid off, bla bla bla -

smokes it,...not as much bottom as the honda,...but everywhere else it kills that thing

Hey if your looking for a nice LTR, Here is my 2006 LTR450. This quad is like my baby but i have to let it go. It was very well maintained and never raced. It has a full HMF Exhaust, EFI(TFI) KIT,Cherry Bomb, Uni Air Filter,Razr Mx's on the Rear, New Pro Taper Bars with New PRO GRIP grips, tether, race cut fenders, BRAND NEW Top end and clutch. Oil was changed every three rides. Always kept up to date. Hate to see her go, but dont have time to ride anymore.
