Hey guys I rode a suzuki LTR over the weekend and my Honda wasn't nearly as good as this suzuki I rode. The one i rode was not a 08 it was one of the older ones but I was wandering if there is a difference in the years of the LTR 450 and if there is going to be an expected change in them anytime soon? I want to get one but im not sure if I should get an older model or a brand new one. I can wait for a while becuase I can't even run a 450 until next year and I have my Honda but i just wanted to see if you guys knew anything and what would be the best thing to buy because if they changed between 06 and 08 then there is no reason for me to get a older on or if they are changing something on the 09's or something like that so post me your opinion. Also do the newer ones make the whining noise in the transmission that I have heard about becuase I do not want that to be a problem. Anything will be greatly appreciated and is there any problems you guys know about in the older ones that were fixed in the newer ones?

Well they have only been around since 06 so there's not much change. There's an 08 SE that black. Ita pretty pimp. Ive not seen much difference thatn that.

I think there's a link on the home page of this site to the Suzuki site listing the changes to the 08 LTR. There are actually many changes in the 08. My advice? Buy the 08. I still love my 06 though.

btw... I see you live in Johnstown. I highly recommend the food at Conemaugh hospital!

the 08 you do not need the shift pin relocator and the internals changed..found that out 2day at baldwin motorsports

What do you have done to your Honda and what did the LTR that you rode have? I am just trying to get an idea of have bad the Honda's really are.

Posted by: 450Rchaser

Honda's arent bad its just that the LTR has alot better setup to it. And alot easier to get power out of.

Haha yea if I ever have to go to that hospital I'll check it out lol. If I go check out the 06 that I am looking at and it is as nice as the guy says it is i will probably buy it. Also like 450rchaser said, I have a honda but the suzuki is already at the max width for mx racing. Also the suspension is not even comparible, and honda is more of a xc quad if you don't pour some money into it like the crappy suspension and the hugh wheels and the bad bottom end. My honda has a hrc kit, hmf sport full system, ltr sized wheels but douglas, pep front shocks and my rear is modified with a derisi Motocross linkage. Also I have a few other little mods but still I love the snappyness of the suzuki and I could just picture myself doing alot better on the MX track with it becuase honda you have to add about $2000 just to get the suspension and width a suzuki got. Also guys try to get a $40 mod that adds 7 hp to a honda! LOL

when i talked to mark baldwin yesterday i asked him what is the best 450 and he said the honda becuz the zuki engine wont last as long as the honda....not too start bashin either becuz im sellin my honda for a ltr becuz its race ready

the 08, ltr is soo much nicer then the 06, 07's because of the (se) package in black and there are 100 new accessories on the 08 liek tractioncontrol and gripper seat ,rubber mounted bar clamps and a new cam!! i got the 08 se and it is amazing best quad goign FORSURE!!

how is it in comparison to the 06 or 07 - any power change,, is the seat easier to ride with, harder,,, and as far as the rubber mounted clamps-- can u fit houser style clamps into them????
