If im not mistaken, i believe your originals are powder coated from the factory. I think mine were, and they stayed black for a couple years, then started to wear off. I stripped mine and polished them out. Maybe the originals were painted? Im not sure. If it was painted, powder coat would def last longer.

the factory controls are a baked enamel. pc will hold up on the controls...if clear is applied...if not....it will wear very fast.

does powdercoating stick to aluminum good??? I thoiugh for anything to stick to aluminum, it has to be anadized??
Posted by: Pappy
i havent had any trouble yet......i can see where aluminum has more "give" to it and the oxidation can wreak havoc at teh welds mainly.....but so far so good. i spoke with a pc guy (20 years exp.) and he said not to sweat it.....so i reckon i have started my own test bed with my cdale
Posted by: "2-R's Rider"
powder does adhere to aluminum....prep is key ..

I just like the durability of the stuff.."flashy etc " is secondary here..
All those fancy colors are nice..but I think the older proven formulas are safest..for durability on these machines ...
