Race will be getting underway at about 11:00 central time. It looks like they may be getting another shower at the track.
Creamer had the fastest practice time with a 2:29 Pelchat next with a 2:30 and Wimmer with a 2:31.

Anyone heard any comments from the dirt bike folks about the quads showing up @ Steel City this weekend? Wonder if the AMA went to the bike guys and told them to "be positive" in their comments about the ATVA riders?

Any word yet? Has it started?

Wow Creamer could give Kawasaki its first win. That would be great advertisment. I know he really wants it.

Wow Creamer just can't beat that #5 spot....

Thanks for the info given. It is nice to see that the guys that raced the ATVA this year proved they still can run with the crowd. And at the top.

I don't have any details, my husband is Joe Haavisto and he quickly called me after the race....sorry

did he say how his teammate dunk did??

Congrats to Pat Brown.... If I'm not mistaken, that's his first national win. I'll bet Paul Turner was a maniac!!!!!
Posted by: jess2000
I just heard that him and Upperman crashed off the start, they are both ok but didn't finish well, again, quick conversation, Joe had to go

Thanx if you here anything let me know please he lives right down the street from us,
Also being a father of 4 it is real nice to see your husband spending quality time with his family, it is real neat to see him on the golf cart with the baby

Spader was running in top 5 until he over shot a berm.
Arno Bres Luburgh all got hungup on the same berm during the race. Racers were doing the triples and all the jumps. Bike guys were very impressed with the atv racers. Pat Brown grabbed the holeshot and walked away. Wienen had worked his way up to second but couldn't touch Brown do to the track being so technical. You couldn't over ride or it would throw you from the track. Downen had quad issues.
Harlen is working on a photo gallery and should have the link to it posted up shortly. Sounds like the inaugural event was a success.

just got back from the race. no doubt weinen had nothing for brown, he checked out, and chad never was able to close the gap. brown did every jump on the track so it was hard to make time on him. Wimmer had a bad start but never really made up ground. Little was in the hunt till he stalled it on the uphill double double section. They interviewed Broc Hepler today and he said over the intercom that by riding the track after the quads, he would have never known they were out there. so thats good to hear. im sure the bike guys still found something to complain about. I saw Pat and Paul turner thru out the day, and they were grinning every time i saw them..

I was there. I wasnt inside until the end, (snuck in). But anyways I drove my quad up there and watched from the fence. Right infront of the starting gate, great view.
From what i heard, the dirtbikers were pleased with sharing the track. The track was muddy and the quads helped sling the mud off and make the ground more consistent. The quads also put little wear on the track compared to the bikes.
