hey guys, I just picked up this 2004 yfz, Is there anything i should check out for? anything I should know? Here are some pics, only test rode it in the street, but its still a beast!!!

I would check the rubber plug that pops out on the 2004 YFZ450s. (Located on The head.)

yeah man, def, I am building it up realllly soon, its getting dropped of at JRD racing for a check up, and when it gets home its getting some goodies.

Its the decompression plug. The 04's are the only model that have them. They are known to pop off. You'll know because oil will go everywhere. Same thing happened on mine. Just get you an after market one and you'll be safe. Just be CAREFULL installing it because they are VERY easy to strip out.

In the first picture it looks like the a-arms and the front of the frame are rusted maybe? If the paint is wearing or rust is developing I would definitely suggest stripping the quad and having the frame cleaned up and powdercoated. Maybe it's just the pictures though.

i think that might just be grease/dirt on the frame?? but the a arms do look rusted. anyway, nice quad

yes, there is grease/dirt on the frame, the aarms are developing a bit of rust
