6 hour of Mo.

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: 79400ex

The race is Sept. 29 in Kahoka Mo. The same as Missouri sieres in the spring. From what I heard he's gooing to run the hole motorcross track this time.

So who's all in?

Posted by: Johnny & Monica

Johnny and I are going to be a team.
Taylor is ditching our team and made her own team.
Several teams are also being put together by some of the Iowa guys. Should be a really fun time.

Posted by: sspalco

Fantastic! Lets show NY up and get at least 40 teams to come.

Posted by: tprender

Just a little info for some of you.
This is what I got back from Mike today.

I have it already layed out. Not sure how long it is but it is maybe around 5 mile guesting. I have a lot of virgin trails and several sand creeks in this layout. I think it will be a neat coarse.
Mike

Awsome...I hope we get to come...Who is on Taylors team. That is so neat that she is going to run her own team. lol....Was she afraid you two would slow her down? Joking...

Posted by: nicker71

going to try ridding today, first time since I had my surgery. Might have to get a team together to see how much damage we can do in six hours

Posted by: millphoto

we are definitely in! can't wait!

Posted by: montycarlo

Planning to be there with Sean Purdy and Josh Jones.

Posted by: stumpleg

Bradley Burrows and I are teaming up, don't know who our third person will be. Changing quads might be tough though, I won't be ble to kick...but already have permission for someone else to start and ride to pits to switch riders.

Posted by: MossboysRacing

just look for the Bannedatatvnews Legends.

we will have cheaters row at the 6 hour in full force.

Posted by: burrows

Woody, you better save me a parking spot or I won't pit board for ya...lol.

Mossboys just keep dreaming about beating me.
it's crazy the older i get. the faster i go.

Posted by: burrows

Its called---Time flys when you get older...lol...

Posted by: millphoto

Any other Missouri teams going? NY had almost 40 teams! We really need to show them up!

There might be around 3 teams that haven't posted on here yet from my area. I hope we have a big turnout.

Posted by: SHEP400EX

anybody need a rider? i might be interested in coming, just got to get off work. sounds like alot of fun.

Posted by: millphoto

If you can't find a team IRONMAN it Shep! It's so much fun! I loved it both years I did it. These guys just talked me into racing on a team or I would always go Ironman! It's a real test of your endurance and strategy.

Tony, I could use a third.

Posted by: watts16

I had a blast ironmanning it last year. I just got bored after about 4.5 hours haha.

Posted by: SHEP400EX

IRONMAN IT! HA ARE YOU CRAZY?!!! i thought about and i know watts did it and had fun but wow 6 hours! thats alot of seat time. im still considering.

Posted by: millphoto

You will love it! Most fun I've ever had on my quad! It's pretty sweet putting a beat down on the 3 man teams!

Posted by: motoboy66

I would love to go and race, but work thinks I should be somewhere else that day. Everyone have fun.

Posted by: millphoto

yeah but what if you turn up ...COUGH! COUGH!..... sick or something? Maybe you might eat some bad food and end up with diarrhea? Can't go to work with the squirts!

Posted by: SHEP400EX

THATS WRONG!!! he he but so almost worth it to call in sick for. your funny tim. i know i have done it even though i feel guilty

Posted by: millphoto

who me? oh i've never done that but i've heard of it.

Posted by: sspalco

We will be there Sat. morning

Posted by: tprender

You will have a ball Ironmaning it. Then when you come back to work on Monday you will not have to have an excuse. All that they will have to do is to look at you and listen to the mouns about how much you hurt.
You would not believe how many time I was sick on Fridays so that I could go to the GNCC races. One time I was calling in on a payphone beside the highway and a semi came by an honked horn. Had to do some real fast talking on that one.

Posted by: SHEP400EX

thats too funny tom. oh hey i talked with bryan baker and he has that pig kill/pass on video so i can confirm your pig story. crazy stuff huh!

Posted by: 79400ex

update on weather conditons in nortest missouri. It is very dry by what my teammate said on Sat. night when I talked to him.

Posted by: moto50

supposed to get some rain tonight and tomorrow.
Hope it hit's Kahoka.

Posted by: tprender

I will be getting up there Thursday night to see what Mike has done. I hope that the course is all arrowed and the rain doesn't mess things up to much. I will be taking the chainsaw to make sure that the place is wide enough.
See you all there.

Posted by: sspalco

tight and technical Tom

Posted by: tprender

It will be at least 50" wide. Not like a couple of spots like last year. Hope it will be like the 1st year.

Posted by: millphoto

looks like it's raining in Kahoka!!

Posted by: sspalco

Good, maybe it will keep the dust down. I just hope it isn't a mud bath. But the weatherman said it is gonna quit by Thursday. Looks like it is gonna be a good one.

Posted by: MO-EX-RIDER

rules say every bike must have 3 # plates...o.k. but do all 3 quads have to have the exact same #'s?

o yea we have a team of 6 hour "virgins"

Posted by: sspalco

you can duct tape over the #'s that are not yours. Your helmet will have a bar code on it just like at the MHSC races. So the # plate is just a back up.

Posted by: tprender

Att he 6 hr races we don't inforce the color number plate rule. All of the atvs on a team will have the same number. If that is not the number on the atv, it would be nice if it was covered up or changed.

I know a couple of yrs ago when we raced the 6 hr at Kahoka one ironman came in and took a nap then went back out. Ha. Guess he thought if he at least finished he had done what he came there to do. You can pit anywhere you want to. I am sure they will have the board up again and you can see how far behind you are from the person in your class. But you will be out front so it will say you are in 1st place. Also when you sign up find out how many are in your class and maybe you can find them and maybe get to know them. Right now I don't know anyone that is ironmaning it. If you need anything stop in at our pit..we'll help ya out the best we can...mommab

Posted by: 400exmom

its not looking good for me to have time to get my quad together for North Carolina...if i cant go there no one best be nappin in the Ironman class or eating diner or you may get beat by a girl

sheppy...just set a steady pace , stay consistant and have fun...change your gloves every 2 hours stay hydrated (start night before)...it gets boring for me in the 4th hour but just keep pushing

Posted by: millphoto

that guy that took a nap just pushed to hard. Dad said he was riding real hard for the first 3 hours then he came in puked and went to sleep. He didn't look so good afterwards!
Tom keeps telling everyone that I came in for a spaghetti dinner during the race at the first 6 hours of mo. That's what I had planned on doing but I just kept going. Adrenaline is a WONDERFUL thing!

Posted by: motoboy66

Tony,
I think Nick Sutton is looking for a team now too. pm me if you are interested in teaming up with him, and maybe tommy.

Posted by: m.h.s.c.#527

im available as a teammate if any one needs a last minute team

Posted by: SHEP400EX

sounds great guys i cant wait! i have been roofing all week and my back is killling me so i hope the 6 hour doesnt kill me the rest of the way! thanks for all the info guys and gals!

Posted by: sspalco

Good luck to everybody racing this weekend, at the 6 and at the GNCC!

Posted by: MO-EX-RIDER

after reading around the quad forums, it looks like the b/c class will be a monster good luck to everyone and see ya around 9 a.m.

Posted by: SHEP400EX

so i am laying here at the hotel trying to rest up from the 6 hour and 21 minute ironman race! wow i didnt think i could do it but with dirtworks motorsports great engine rebuild and framework and a great pit crew by the moss boys i managed to place 3rd and 26th overall. thanks tom, tim and the others for talking me into calling in sick!

Posted by: motoboy66

Thats awsome Tony. I have done 3 hours and 26 minutes befor, and can only imagine how another three hours would feel. I could hardly get out of the truck after driving home. I think the hotel was a good idea. Great job

Posted by: sspalco

52 teams showed up. I think Missouri had the most 6 hour teams. GO MO!

Posted by: sspalco

Proud Uncle Steven with his nephew Avery. The Miller boys team took 1st in the A class. Great job guys!

Posted by: sspalco

Thanks Mike for the awesome course. Everyone absolutely loved the virgin creek beds. Good job.

Posted by: sspalco

Denny & Dave at the riders meeting.

Posted by: sspalco

We didn't have the National Anthem on tape, so everyone sung it together before the gun went off. Well, I should say we all butchered it before the gun went off. What a fun way to start the race.

Posted by: sspalco

Thanks Tom for all the hard work you put in this year.

Posted by: sspalco

2 minutes til start.

Posted by: sspalco

GO!!!

Posted by: sspalco

And they're off.

Posted by: sspalco

Team Shrum Racing's DJ Shrum, was 5th into the woods.

Posted by: sspalco

.

Posted by: sspalco

A little help please.

Posted by: sspalco

Devon Jarrett had to take over on lap two for the Shrum Racing team because DJ caught a vine on the first go around and ripped his goggles off.
These teenagers, along with their team mate Ronnie Bloodworth, take the overall win.
