just wondering if both machines are stock, whnt advantage does the kfx have? the kfx has adjustable shocks correct, are they tuneable on both ends, comp. and rebound? does the air cooled engine give up some horse power? which one handles better?? thanks whc

My buddy has a brand new KFX400...he got the last one the local Kawi dealership had. The stock shocks are adjustable and feel pretty good. The quad is comfortable to ride and has plenty of power. Personally, I think they sit a little too tall, but that is just me. The seat is also very comfortable. That being said, I would rather ride my 2001 400ex because I prefer the way it handles. I have a little more power (full Yoshi exhaust, K&N, no lid, Stage 1 HotCam) than him right now (full HMF Ballance exhaust, K&N, no lid)...I can beat him by about half a bike length in a 1/8th drag. But, before I put in the cam, him bike totally stock could beat me in the same drags.
