Just curous what oil you guys use on your 250's, and what mods you have on your motor. I just got mine running about after a year and a half, and can't remember what oil I used to use, lol. I thought I had some laying aroud, but it was the Klotz oil to mix the gas with. Nothing is stock except for the frame and radiator just about. The frame was cracked, and I just rode the 450 til now. Just welded the frame up yesterday, and looking to get some good use out of it. Thanks in advance!! Red

Another little tid bit of info about this bike is my buddy built it from the ground up. It's bored out around .70 or .80. I think he said it was the 320 or 330 kit in there. I bought it with the intention to learn how to work on it, but everything was already on it that I needed. So, slowly, when whatever happens, I get to learn how to do whatever.

I use klotz tcw snowmobile oil. Is it a stock clyinder or a re-sleeve?? If its a stock, 80 over is a 263, the last bore on a 310(73.5mm) is a 309, stock(72mm) is 293 and most of your 330's are right around a 320 and on the last bore is a true 330.

your asking about the tranny oil arent you?
you stated you couldnt remember what oil you ran before but, said ya found some klotz mix laying around.
at any rate i run klotz kl-100 at 32:1 for mix and pj1 clutch tuner lightweight for the tranny,

Yes, I was talking about the tranny. I have the Klotz for mixing with gas. Just can't for the life of me remember what the hell kind of oil I used to run in the motor. Could've swore I still had some laying around, but I guess not.

I run Maxima 10W-40 in the tranny. Seems to work well.

I have seen some really odd responses to this question. Some people run 80wt gear oil, or others run ATF.
The Honda manual reccomends 10w-40.
As for the specific brand, I'd say you couldn't go wrong with any of the name-brand oils. Maxima, Klotz, Amsoil, ect. Any of them will be safe to use with a wet clutch.
Me, personally, I run Amsoil 10W-40.

most any oils that dont have slip/friction(as in automobil oils) modifiers in them are fine

Well
I use Bel-Ray H1R 32:1 and Bel-Ray Gear Saver 80w.
Posted by: racerx573
Bottom End: Honda 80W85 or Bel-Ray Gear Saver 85W90.
Mix: Bel-Ray MC-1 40 or 50:1 depending on temperature or track.
I have a 265 PV w/ full Hinson 8 plate clutch & advanced timing. Sparks MX pipe, V-Force 2 Reed cage with 1/4" spacer. High compression dome with a NGK BR8EVX plug.
Never fouled a plug, or had any problems with bottom end deposits. Change the oil every other race, and the plug every 5 races.
