a friend of mine is sellin his kfx400 and another friend is lookin into buying it, he deosnt know much about atvs and asked me if theres anything that kfx400's are known to break, but i dont know much about them and wasnt sure. so any info about them would really help, thanx.

the kfx/z400, are a pretty solid machine,

the 05 and ups are the better choice because they have piggyback shocks, and did some minor changes throughout the engine, and the have a detachable grab bar,

like i said these bikes are pretty solid,,, but i have noticed the ball joints, bushings, and bearings seem to wear out pretty quick,,

its an 04 and i plan on lookin at it to make sure nothin broken or worn. just wanted to know wat commonly wears/breaks on them.

03 frames are know to brake if you race hard mx. i think they had it fixed for 04 though. check the upper front shock mounts for cracks thats where it mosly happens. also some people stripp the rear chain adjustment bolts. also test drive it throught all the gears.

yea i was going to test ride and make sure it shifts right and stuff. like i said its all stock and an 04. another question is that my friend thats selling said he wants $2300, do you guys think thats a good price if nothing is wrong with it?
