axle nut will not break loose.

OK me and my buddies tried to change the bearinngs on my 400ex this weekend. Here's the problem the aaxle nut would not break loose. We heated it lubed it and had 4 men all over 200lbs on 2 pipe wrenchs with 6ft cheater pipes would not break loose any help would be appreciated.

Are you aware they are left hand threads?

^ good point ya make sure you turn them counter clockwise to loosen them....

Yes I did know that. So where do I go from here. Cut them off with a torch or what?

You could but you shouldn't have to, I got mine off by myself with a couple of pipe wrenches.

You will want to hold the larger nut in place and loosen the skinny nut toward the brake hub, counter clockwise looking from the right side. Then turn the larger nut toward the brake hub to expose the lock ring.

before id go as far as gutting them off, id heat them up a bit..

Honda designed this so your weight and the fourwheelers weight work with you. When trying to loosen the nut, put the wrench on the small nut first with the wrench sticking straight out the back of the fourwheeler, then jump on it. Repeat for the other nut. Then when you are tightening it up have the wrench on the same way and pick up, fourwheeler and all. This is a little extreme and funny but the concept of it works.
