I got a 07 525 and at idle you can hear what sounds like the lower end pretty noisey. Are the ktm engines suposed to be noisey.

Yes the KTM engines are typically noisy. I bet the noise goes away when you pull the clutch in. As far as I know this is normal and nothing to worry about.

Mine does it as well. It sounds like a loose cam chain but when you listen to the motor, it is coming from the bottom end. As soon as load starts on the motor as the clutch is released, the noise goes away, right? The guys on KTMTALK.com all said it is normal on the 450/525 motor, just the nature of the beast!

correct noise goes away when riding. Thanks I figured they were just noisey animals.
