well at least you look on the positive side....

all the bikes come with plastic skids... even my 250r did... maybe your suzuki came with a steal one, but the rest of those old suzukis were junk- i'll take the plastic skind any day of the week...

you knew it was plastic- that wasnt too smart to go do hard core trail riding with it now was it...

The manufacturer's have already stepped up big time with options for the quads. Yamaha offers pipes, skids, and even handguards as OEM options. Congratulations on spending $2000 more on a quad than you should have, many new YFZ's can be had for under $6000.

I deleted my post because i didnt want every yfz owner on the planet to start yelling at me. And where the heck can you buy a brand new yfz under 6k?

I didnt want an 06,i wanted an 07. They have oversized bars,and the 2007 special editions have better front shocks. Plus i wanted the white with the flames. I could have gotten a left over 06 for less that is true.
Im not being a pessimist,i love the quad. I just couldnt believe they have the dang fuel screw capped off

I was calling around the other day and a lil place in dequencie (spell) louisiana quoted me 5999 otd on a still in the crate 07 se they said the had the white and the black whichever one i wanted.

There are some cheap ones on ebay. But for my 7k and change i got a super extended warranty,gap insurance,a 200 helmet,and some free maintenance

thats what the sales woman said,,, she even said that if wanted a regular blue one they could do it for around 5800. I left my name and number she is sapouse to calle me back when she gets an orange 08 in. she said she cant nearly make me the same deal on one of them though.
