Hi, I'm new here and a total rookie....

I have an Arctic Cat 300...not sure what year, probably late 90's.

Just recently, it's started running REALLY rough and won't idle at all. The battery seems to be going dead all the time, even after being on the charger all night it only holds enough charge to start my quad a couple times.

I was wondering if a bad battery can cause the rough running/stalling and when it does run it has absolutely no power and chugs along.....

Sorry for my ignorance...trying to learn!

I would have battery tested first. If it checks out OK then suspect alternator. That's my novice mechanics theory.
